Early Childhood Off-Campus Master's Cohort;
Critical Educator: Kindergarten and Primary Teaching
Reading Endorsement
This is an intensive Master's program designed primarily for beginning teachers (but also open to experienced teachers) who wish to continue their professional development in a focused, systematic, and collegial manner. This unique program (flexibly scheduled courses) will focus on teaching as inquiry with an emphasis on school-based leadership, advocacy for children, and the development of effective teaching practice. Upon completion of the literacy courses and passing of the Introduction to the Teaching of Reading subtest on the Praxis II exam, participants may apply for the Ohio Reading Endorsement.

*Participants who have not completed a phonics class as part of their initial licensure will need to do so prior to applying for the Reading Endorsement.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or
Special Education**.
- Commitment toward developing best practice and an inquiry approach toward teaching
- Commitment to completing the program
- Admission to the KSU Graduate School of Education
**This cohort focuses on teaching in kindergarten and primary grades. Although we invite teachers who have an elementary or special education degree to join, it is important to know that the M.Ed. will not be sufficient to obtain a State of Ohio License in Early Childhood Education.
